Technician Daily Workflow
Follow this daily workflow in OwlOps to accurately track your time, work completed, parts and costs—from the beginning of your day until you clock out.
Your Daily Workflow
A typical day in OwlOps follows these steps:
Clock In → Check In → Complete Tasks → Check Out → Repeat at Each Location → Clock Out
Following this process helps ensure your timesheet accurately reflects where you worked, how long you spent at each location, and the work you completed.
1. Clock in for the Day
At the beginning of your workday, Clock In to start your daily timesheet.
From your OwlOps homescreen:
- Select Clock In.
- Confirm that you want to clock in.
Your daily timesheet will begin.

Important: Clocking in starts your workday. You will still need to Check In when you arrive at each restaurant or location.
2. Check In When You Arrive at a Location
When you arrive at a restaurant or other location, Check In before beginning your work.
Checking in adds a timestamp to your timesheet and helps OwlOps accurately track the time spent at each location.
Check in from your homescreen
- Select the task you're about to start working on.
- Select Check In.
- Confirm that you're checking in to the correct location.

Once you're checked in, you can begin working on your tasks for that location.
3. Add What You Did
Open the task you're working on and document the work as you complete it.
Depending on the task, you may need to add:
- Inventory / Parts
- Receipts or Costs
- Hours
- Notes
- Photos or Attachments
Only complete the information that applies to the task.

4. Close the Task
Once the work is complete and you've entered all applicable parts, costs, hours, notes and attachments, review the task before closing it.
Make sure the information entered is accurate.
When you're ready:
- Select Close Task.
- Confirm that you'd like to close the task.
- The task status will change to Closed.

Have more tasks at this location?
If you have additional work to complete at the same restaurant, stay checked in.
Open your next task and repeat the process:
Complete Work → Add Parts/Costs/Hours → Close Task
Continue until you've finished all of your work at that location.
5. Check Out When You Leave the Location
Once you've completed your work and are ready to leave the restaurant or location, Check Out.
Checking out adds a timestamp to your timesheet and ends the time being tracked at that location.
From your OwlOps homescreen:
- Select the dropdown arrow beside Clock Out.
- Select Check Out.
- Confirm that you're checking out of the location.

6. Travel to Your Next Location
If you're visiting another restaurant or location, travel to your next stop.
When you arrive:
Check In → Complete Your Tasks → Check Out
Repeat this process for each location you visit throughout the day.
This allows OwlOps to accurately allocate your time across your different locations and tasks.
7. Clock Out at the End of the Day
Once you've completed all of your work for the day, Clock Out.
From your OwlOps homescreen:
- Select Clock Out.
- Confirm that you'd like to clock out.
Clocking out ends your daily timesheet.

What's the difference between Clock In and Check In?
Clock In starts your overall workday and daily timesheet.
Check In records when you arrive at a specific restaurant or location.
Throughout a typical day, you'll Clock In once, but may Check In and Check Out multiple times as you travel between locations.
At the end of your workday, Clock Out to finish your daily timesheet.
