Getting to Know the New OwlOps Homescreen

The new OwlOps homescreen gives you a cleaner, more customizable way to see your tasks, find what you need, and focus on the work that matters to you.

Here’s a walkthrough of the new layout.

How the Homescreen is Organized

The homescreen is made up of five main areas:

  1. Location Picker – Choose which location or department you want to view.
  2. Stat Cards – Quickly see counts for important groups of tasks.
  3. Task Views – Jump between All Tasks, My Task List, Tasks I Created, Flagged, Approvals, and any custom views available to you.
  4. Filters – Search and narrow your task list by status, priority, assigned user, category and more.
  5. Task List – View and work through your tasks using either Card View or List View.

Location Picker

Use the dropdown in the top left corner to choose the location or department you want to work from.

Everything below it updates based on your selection, including your task counts and task list. Your selection is also remembered the next time you visit.

Stat Cards

The cards across the top give you a quick snapshot of your tasks.

Depending on your setup, you may see cards for things like Open Tasks, Assigned to Me, Created by Me, Flagged, or On Hold.

Clicking a card quickly filters your task list to show those tasks. Use Manage to choose which stat cards you want displayed and arrange them in the order that works best for you.

Task Views

The orange bar contains your different Task Views.

Everyone starts with views such as:

  • All Tasks – All open tasks you have access to
  • My Task List – Open tasks assigned to you
  • Tasks I Created – Open tasks you created
  • Flagged – Tasks you've flagged
  • Approvals – Tasks waiting for your approval, if applicable

You may also see additional custom views that you or your organization have created.

Search & Filters

Use the filter bar to quickly narrow down your task list.

You can Search for a task or filter by Status and Priority right from the homescreen.

Need to get more specific? Select More Filters to narrow your list by assigned user, task type, category, region, date range and more.

If you've changed your filters and want to get back to the original view, select Reset.

Card View vs. List View

Use the two icons on the right side of the task list to switch between Card View and List View.

Card View

Card View is designed for working through tasks one at a time.

Your tasks appear on the left. Select a task and its details and complete history appear on the right, allowing you to review updates without leaving the homescreen.

From here, use Actions to work on the task or Open to go to the full task page.

List View

List View gives you a more traditional table that's great for scanning and comparing a larger number of tasks at once.

You can sort by clicking column headings, rearrange columns, and select Columns to choose which information you want displayed.

Make It Your Own

One of the biggest advantages of the new homescreen is that you can customize it around the way you use OwlOps.

Choose the task views you use most, adjust your filters, customize your stat cards, and switch between Card and List View depending on how you like to work.

As you get comfortable with the new homescreen, you can also use Save view to save your favourite combinations of filters and columns for quick access later.
